It is the successor to Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac and is comparable to Office 2010 for Windows. Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 is a version of the Microsoft Officeproductivity suite for macOS. As 32-bit software, it will not run on macOS Catalina or later versions of macOS. Support for Office for Mac 2011 was originally scheduled to end on January 12, 2016, but because Office for Mac 2016 did not come out until July 2015, Microsoft extended support until October 10, 2017.
